To provide a digital camera that activates a piezoelectric element, without the need for provision of a separate boosting circuit in the inside of the digital camera.

The digital camera shown in Figure 1 is provided with an image pickup section 10, that picks up an object, a piezoelectric element 11 that displaces the image pickup section 10, a piezoelectric element drive section 12 that drives the piezoelectric element 11, an arithmetic processing section 13 that controls the operation of each section, a main capacitor that supplies power to a strobe circuit 14, and an auxiliary capacitor 16 that is charged by the main capacitor via a diode 15, and the main capacitor and the auxiliary capacitor 16 are sued for a power supply source to drive the piezoelectric element 11.
