The digital camera wherein an RGB/YV conversion circuit 45 separates a color signal outputted from a color imaging element into a luminance signal and color difference signals and a color difference matrix is multiplied with the color difference signals to correct a color tone, prepares color difference matrices used when a photographing light source is the sunlight and when the photographing light source is a particular light source other than the sunlight, a light source type discrimination circuit 49 discriminates whether photographing light source is the sunlight or the particular light source, and a color difference matrix circuit 48 selects a color difference matrix for correcting the color tone depending on a result of discrimination.
