To provide the digital camera in which digitalized image data are converted by using a programmable processor.

An image received from an optical lens 1 is given to a CCD 3 driven by a drive circuit 7 through a shutter and an iris 2 controlled by a system control circuit 8. Input image data are converted into a digital value by using an A/D converter 4 and the converted digital value is stored in a memory 5. The stored digital data are converted by using a processor 6 and stored in an idle area of the memory 5. The digital data in the memory 5 are displayed on a monitor 10 by using a D/A converter 9.
