Abstract:

PURPOSE:To selectively perform multilevel recording, and binary image recording, and to obtain high visibility in the binary image recording, by providing a logical processing means which generates binary black recording information from each of binary recording information, and outputs the above information and the binary recording information of a specified color, and a means which selects the output of the above means, and recording information in which multilevel expression is distributed. CONSTITUTION:A binary recording mode includes a mode which designates the recording of four colors, three colors, and two colors, either including a black, and the logical processina means includes a first logical processing means which updates the three colors to non-recording as recognizing binary black recording information BK as the one to represnt the recording, when either recording information of Y. M, and C in designation of four colors, and performes the non-recording of the information BK when either the three colors is in the non-recording, without updating the three colors, and outputs the information of the four colors processed in such a way, and a second and a third logical processing means which output the information of the specified color, and the information BK respectively based on the above stated operation, in the designation of the three colors, and the two colors. In such a way, it is possible to selectively designate the specified color as one color, the two colors, or the three colors. The output of the above stated logical processing means, and the output of a multilevel processing circuit 109, can be switched by a switching gate circuit 105, and each of gate circuits 110, and 111.
