Abstract:
PURPOSE: To temporarily rewire a network by the use of a patch cord as required for inspection, monitoring or repair by providing jack switches between conductors for input/output jacks and connectors and cross connection input/ output jacks and connectors. CONSTITUTION: A front panel 60 of a module is provided with input/output jacks 62, 64, cross connection input/output jacks 66, 68, and monitoring input/ output jacks 70, 72. A back panel 55 of the module is provided with input/output connectors 74, 76 and cross connection input/output connectors 78, 80. Conductors 82-88 connect between the jacks and the connectors, respectively. Jack switches 90, 92 are provided for connecting or grounding/insulating the conductors 82, 86 to/from 84, 88 for the input/output jacks by inserting/withdrawing of plugs. An inspector or a repairman uses a patch cord to insulate any one of the conductors and temporarily change the network, thereby performing abnormality detection or suitable repair. A monitoring jack can monitor an input/output signal without interfering a signal on the network.
