Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the indication of remaining fuel quantity from being greatly changed clue to the inclination of a slant road as compared with the indication before a vehicle has stopped, when the vehicle is started again after the vehicle has stopped once with running operations suspended in an on-vehicle digital fuel gauge. CONSTITUTION:Analogue voltage values from a remaining fuel quantity sensor 2 are converted into digital values by an ADC 3 so as to be averaged by an operation processing means 4b, so that an indicated value is obtained, and the quantity of remaining fuel is thereby indicated in a form of a bar graph by a display unit 5. A period switching means 4c allows the period required by the ADC for digital conversion to be shortened during the specified period of time right after the IGN switch 7 has been turned on, and also allows the period after that to be lengthened. The newest indicated value is stored in a memory means, the indicated value obtained right after the IGN switch has been turned on, is compared with the stored indicated value by a comparison means 4d, and when there exists the difference between both of them, the quantity of remaining fuel is allowed to be indicated in a form of a bar graph based on the stored indicated value.
