Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an image processing system with which an image type is smoothly determined. CONSTITUTION: Data on lines 26 and 35 are inputted to a smoothing filter circuit 27. An image type detecting signal is sent to a decoder 100, the image type detecting signal on the lines 26 and 35 is divided into four image type blocks (separations), and each image type block shows it with a binary signal whether or not the specified image type exists at the position of each pixel in a document image. Each image type block signal is processed independently of the other three signals. The respective image type block signals are sent to specified open filters 102a-102d and their respective outputs are sent to correspondent close filters 104a-104d. Their respective outputs are coupled into one signal by an encoder 106. When there is any unsuitable image type signal, a programming circuit 108 corrects a processing select signal. The result is sent to an image processing controller.
