Abstract:
PURPOSE: To attain recording with high recording density by dividing a digital signal into a 4-bit data word, corresponding the word to a prescribed code word and inserting a prescribed bit between words.
CONSTITUTION: A 6-bit code word where ≥1 set or ≤4 sets of the 2nd logical bits clipped by the 1st logical bit exist consecutively to an inputted digital signal of 4-bit/word and also ≤3 sets of the 2nd logical bits exists consecutively at the end of the data word is formed. Then bits where ≥1 or ≤4 sets of the 2nd logical bits exist consecutively are inserted to each code word. A bit train is formed by arranging serially merging bits and code words generated in this way werially.
