PURPOSE: To attain miniaturization and to reduce the cost by using a storage means having a 1-line memory area to apply processing such as stereoscopic shade.
CONSTITUTION: A picture data read by a CCD line image sensor 40 is amplified by an amplifier 41 and converted into a digital data from an analog data by an A/D converter 42 and the resulting data is given to a picture processing section 43. Then the 1-line memory is used to give a predetermined change to a digital picture data by one line to generate a shade picture data as a feedback data and it is added to a digital picture data by one line given newly. Then an output processing means eliminates selectively the shade picture data adjacent to an original picture data to binarize the data after elimination. Since the storage means having one-line memory area is used for the processing, the small sized and inexpensive picture forming device is obtained.
