To provide a digital prepress system which is capable of making a good proofread matter for printing which is free from a character deformation and a difference in trapping treatment and shows a little color difference in the image between the proofread matter for printing and a production printed matter and also shows no sense of incongruity in color tone, feel of luster or the like between a proofreading sheet and a production printing sheet.
This digital prepress system transfers bit data obtained by processing with the help of a single unit of RIP to a lithographic printing plate output machine and an ink jet printer and obtains a lithographic printing plate and a proofread matter for printing. In addition, the system is characterized in that a means for preparing a proofread matter for printing of the ink jet printer records data by ink jet on a proofreading sheet which shows the color difference of 2 or less from a production printing sheet, the absolute value of 15 or less of the difference in 75° mirror surface glossiness from the production printing sheet and the difference in basis weight of -10% or more to +50% or less from the production printing sheet, as specified by JIS Z8730. Thus, this invension solves the issues described above.
