Abstract:
PURPOSE: To directly address register of an error correction cooperation processor(ECCP) through a digital signal processor(DSP) and to allow the memory to change by writing cost in permitted condition of minimum cost in extermum cost index register. CONSTITUTION: A branch metric unit 154 of the flush type ECCP transfers branch metrics to an update unit 1154, and combinational passes after addition- comparison-selection operation are written in a trace back RAM 1158. A minimum cost index is written in a register MIDX of trace back unit 1160 and minimum cumulative cost is typically written in a register MAC. The index of this cost is compared to an index in permitted condition. When the cost is not in a condition of minimum cost, DSP rewrites information in the MIDX register. That is, the cost index in the permitted condition of minimum cost is written in the minimum cost index register.
