PURPOSE: To erase a start ID searched immediately after a direct pause search from this position on the spot by controlling the whole system operation with a system controller.
CONSTITUTION: When the closure of a direct pause search key 23 is detected by the system controller 22, a mechanism 16 is set into a search mode by a mechanism control part 19, and subcode information reproduced by a subcode discriminating part 17 is read out, and when the start ID for a target piece of music is detected, the mechanism 16 is stopped before a head part of the music. In this case, the direct pause search mode is stored in a previous mode storage part 21, and moreover when the closure of a start ID erasing key 25 for commanding the erasure of the start ID is detected, controls by the mechanism control part 19 and a start ID control part 18 are performed to erase the start ID from this position for a given period of time from an erasing time generating part 20. By this method, the erasure of the target start ID can be performed extremely easily.
