Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a high-efficiency encoded data output, which can not be decoded properly on the side of a recorder, by generating high-efficiency encoded data working high-efficiency encoded data.
SOLUTION: Error correcting processing is performed to data outputted from a recording and reproducing system 5 by an error correction decoding circuit 4 and after correcting processing, these data are supplied to a high- efficiency encoded data working circuit 7. At the high-efficiency encoded data working circuit 7, based on the instructions of an error detecting circuit 6, first CGMS detecting circuit 10 and external control circuit 8, it is determined whether or not the high-efficiency encoded data are to be worked and the high- efficiency encoded data for reproduction are generated and supplied to a high- efficiency decoding circuit 2 and a digital interface 9. At the high-efficiency decoding circuit 2, the high-efficiency encoded data for reproduction are decoded and converted into analog signals by a D/A converter 13, and output data to an image display device 15 are generated. At the digital interface 9, encoding for digital communication is performed to the high-efficiency encoded data for reproduction and digital dubbing data to external equipment are generated.
