To provide a digital still camera that is suitably applicable to a supervisory camera for burglarproof purpose or the like and where its casing body can freely be painted on user side, and setting of photographing conditions is facilitated.
This camera has a projection piece 1b, that is placed adjacent to a lens 1a of the camera and moved interlockingly with a moving contact 21b of a power switch 21 and also has a protection seal 1c, that adheres to the surface of the lens and the projection piece in a state of depressing the projection piece. When the protection seal is exfoliated, the projection piece is moved to connect the moving contact 21b of the power switch 21 to a fixed contact 21a of the power switch 21, so as to allow a power supply device to supply DC power to each section of the camera.
