The digital television broadcast receiver 100 includes a buffer memory 18, a decoder 14, and a switching control portion 20. The buffer memory 18 buffers digital television broadcasting signals extracted from a different frequency band at an identical channel. The decoder 14 reads and decodes the signals buffered in the buffer memory 18. The switching control portion 20 controls so that digital television broadcasting signals of a set-up channel extracted from a first frequency band are read from the buffer memory 18 and decoded by the decoder 14, and then, the switching control portion 20 changes controlling so that digital television broadcasting signals of the set-up channel extracted from a second frequency band different from the first frequency band are read from the buffer memory 18 and decoded by the decoder 14, in order to continue a video image of the set-up channel.
