PURPOSE: To attain high accuracy processing by changing a band width of a comb of plural variable comb line filters and/or its attenuation characteristic with a correlation state and a control signal and selecting any of the plural variable comb line filters corresponding to the correlation state so as to introduce a luminance signal and/or a chrome signal.
CONSTITUTION: Correlation detection means 40, 44 of a digital signal processor 18 detect correlation state, control means 48, 50 change any or both of the band width and the attenuation characteristic of a comb of plural variable comb line filters 42, 46 based on the detection state and the inputted control signal and select the plural variable comb line filter sections 42,46 depending on the correlation state thereby any or both of the luminance signal and the chroma signal. Thus, a desired characteristic of the comb line filter is easily formed and the Y/C separation and Y or C signal processing are implemented with high accuracy.
