PURPOSE: To attain the digital color demodulation of standard and non-standard video signals at a low cost by adding a correction by a digital arithmetic processing to a color modulation signal from a carrier chrominance signal based on the color modulation signal from a color burst signal extracted every time of horizontal scanning of the video signal.
CONSTITUTION: A burst extracting circuit 42 extracts the color information YB and XB of the color burst signal demodulated by a digital color demodulating circuit 41 by each horizontal scanning of the video signal. A digital arithmetic processing part 43 performs the correcting processing by an arithmetic operation to the color information YC and XC of the carrier chrominance signal based on the color information YB and XB of the color burst signal. Thus, even when a phase deviation between a clock generated synchronously with the horizontal synchronizing signal of the input video signal, and the color burst signal of the input video signal is generated, the error of the color demodulation caused by the phase deviation can be automatically corrected based on the phase difference between the color burst signal and the clock CK.
