Abstract:
PURPOSE: To perform encoding for reducing a minimum code amount to be accessed at the time of special reproduction and to efficiently arrange minimum data to be accessed at the time of special reproduction on a disk by arraying respective output data outputted from first and second encoding means at prescribed positions in respective picture group data for the respective picture group data.
CONSTITUTION: The code processing of I-pictures, P-pictures and B-pictures is performed for both low resolution components and resolution residual components. In such a manner, sequences in which the low resolution components and the resolution residual components are alternately arranged can be constituted. When the data are rearranged to collect and arrange GOPs at a part convenient for the access of an optical head by a data reconstituting device 25 and a first half which is an area occupied by L components is read, the low resolution components can be reproduced. For the resolution residual components, a data amount is less than non resolution residual components and efficient hierarchization can be performed. That is, the first and second encoding means are provided and the efficient hierarchization is performed.
