PURPOSE: To simplify construction and make the watch thinner by constituting the portions requiring strength of the digital watch consisting of display elements, circuit elements, circuit substrate, plate, circuite case, etc. with the plate and the portions requiring insulation with the circuit case.

CONSTITUTION: Part of circuit elements of an IC chip 26, capacitor chip 30, etc. are packaged to a circuit substrate 24 and are thereafter fixed to the surface of a plate 25. The remaining circuit elements, crystal vibrator, etc. are packaged to a circuit case 33 and are secured to the back of the plate 25. The circuit substrate 24, circuit case and plate 25 are integrally formed. And arrangement is so made that part of the circuit case 33 serves also as insulation for the plate 25 of the circuit elements, etc. packaged to the circuit substrate 24 and circuit case 33 side. With such constitution, the portions requiring strength may be shared by the plate 25 and the portions requiring insulation by the circuit case 33, thus the thin type digital watch of the simple circuit constitution may be obtained.
