Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an x-ray detector that is lightweight yet mechanically stiff and rugged to withstand heavy impact or support patient loads placed on a detector surface.SOLUTION: An x-ray detector 60 is provided for use in imaging systems. The x-ray detector 60 includes a detector subsystem 68 configured to output electrical signals in response to reception of x-rays. The x-ray detector 60 also includes a single-piece protective enclosure 62 having at least one opening 70 to receive the detector subsystem 68.
