Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain diglucosyl-β-cyclodextrin nearly comparable in an inclusion power to well-known β-cyclodextrin and markedly excellent in solubility, by allowing glucoamylase to act upon dimaltosyl-β-cyclodextrin.
CONSTITUTION: The titled compound is obtained by allowing glucoamylase to act upon dimaltosyl-β-cyclodextrin. This reaction is preferably carried out at 30W60°C and a pH in the range of 3.5W6.5. The obtained diglucosyl-β- cyclodextrin is a white powder having a molecular formula of C54H90O45, a MW of 1,459 (mass spectrometry), a m.p. of 277.5°C and easy solubility in water.
