To obtain a dilatant fluid capable of being prepared easily and at a low cost, generating a dilatant characteristic rapidly and controlling a fluid characteristic.

This dilatant fluid is obtained by dispersing inorganic oxide particles in 80-90wt.% ratio with water by using a polymer-based dispersing agent in 0.01-0.1wt.% ratio. In this way, it is possible to generate a dilatant characteristic extremely rapidly and to control a fluid characteristic, i.e., the characteristic of a change in viscosity according to a shearing rate.
