PURPOSE: To accurately measure a deviation from a standard dimension by providing a measure, a shift pulse generator, a CCD for detecting the bright line of a laser beam, a display device for displaying a converted value as a deviation from a standard value and the like.
CONSTITUTION: After a power supply switch is turned on, the tip of a measure is set to a measured position and a laser beam is incident upon the incident window of a CCD. The CCD is scanned, and when the CCD detects the bright line of a laser beam, an AND gate circuit 16 is opened, and a shift pulse outputted from a pulse generator 21 is counted by a counter circuit 15, and when one scanning period is completed, the circuit 15 is reset. When the bright line of the laser beam is detected by the CCD in one scanning period, the circuit 16 is closed to store the counted value of the circuit 15 into a RAM 13. The counted value stored in the RAM 13 is expressed in terms of a meter and a positive or a negative deviation from a standard dimension is computed. The positive or negative deviation value is displayed in an LCD display 4.
