Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a curable composition having excellent surface curability, low volume shrinkage in curing, and excellent adhesion and close adhesion by using a specified di(meth)acrylate as the monomer. CONSTITUTION:A di(meth)acrylate of the formula (wherein R<1> is H or methyl; and (n) is the average number of ethylene oxide molecules added and is 0-8) is produced, for example, by subjecting perhydro-1,4;5,8-dimethanonaphthalene-2,3- dimethanol and a desired number of moles of ethylene oxide to an addition reaction and esterifying the product with (meth)acrylic acid. This compound as an essential component is mixed with a polymerizable oligomeric acrylate, a polymerizable double bond-containing monomer compound (e.g. acrylamide), a polymerization initiator (e.g. benzoin), a photosensitizer (e.g. triethanolamine), etc., to produce a curable composition. The obtained curable composition can be desirably used in the production of coating materials, laminates, etc.
