Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by the formula [R is 10W20C aliphatic hydrocarbon or 10W20C (alkylphenoxy)alkyleneoxyalkyl].

EXAMPLE: Dimethyldithiocarbamic acid tetradecyldimethylbenzyl ammonium salt.

USE: An antigen composition having antibacterial and antifungal properties together and capable of providing antibacterial and antifungal properties to textile product, building material, sheet material, etc.

PREPARATION: An aqueous solution of dimethyldithiocarbamic acid salt is reacted with an aqueous solution of the corresponding quanternary ammonium compound (e.g. halogenated tetradecyldimethylbenzylammonium) and the reaction product is separated to provide the compound expressed by the formula. The antigerm compound is slightly soluble in water, soluble in an organic solvent and low in toxicity.
