To provide a compact dip coating apparatus which can reduce an overflowing amount of a coating liquid from a storage tank when a member to be coated is dipped into the coating liquid in the storage tank and to provide a dip coating method.

The dip coating apparatus has a first tank 21 capable of storing the coating liquid Q, two supporting members 27 which can support the member to be coated at the determined position such that a coating part of the member to be coated, on which the coating liquid Q must be coated, is positioned in the storage tank, a second tank 22 and a driving pump 26 for supplying the coating liquid Q into the first tank 21, and a control apparatus 30 for controlling a drive of the driving pump 26 in order to raise the liquid surface Qa of the coating liquid Q in the first tank 21 in the state that the member to be coated is arranged at the determined position by each supporting member 27.
