To obtain a polymer good in film-forming properties and useful as a light-emitting element and a material for an electrochromic element, to provide a method of producing the polymer, and to obtain a monomer compound thereof.
This polymer has a dibenzodisilaazocine compound represented by the following general formula (1) (wherein R1 to R5 are each independently an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkoxy group or an aryloxy group; and n is the average degree of polymerization and denotes a number of 3-30,000), as a main chain skeleton.
