Abstract:
To provide a direct contact system (DCS) type electronic control unit (ECU) 100.SOLUTION: An ECU 100 includes a printed circuit board (PCB) 102 having a plurality of contact pads 104 and a plurality of vias 106 disposed outside a housing 110 of the ECU 100. The plurality of contact pads 104 are configured to be connected to a connector. The ECU 100 is characterized by an insulating material 120 applied to gap 108 of at least one of the vias 106 and the plurality of contact pads 104. Therefore, the failure of the ECU 100 due to a short circuit due to ingress or adhesion of water is prevented by applying the insulating material 120. A method is also provided for preventing the failure of the ECU 100.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
