To receive and demodulate the broadcast of different modulation systems in a single reception and demodulation means.
Reception signals received by an antenna 14 are mixed with output from a local oscillator 19 and the output phase-converted for 90 degrees in multipliers 17 and 18 and quadrature transformed to I signals and Q signals whose phases are different 90 degrees. Both signals are respectively filtered in filters 21 and 22 provided with a pass band capable of filtering the signals of the dedicated frequency band of an OFDM modulation broadcast system and then, supplied to an arithmetic processing means 30. In the arithmetic processing means 30, both signals are arithmetically processed, band-limited to the band width of the dedicated frequency band of the broadcast of a desired modulation system among AM broadcast, FM broadcast and OFDM broadcast, arithmetically processed corresponding to the modulation system and demodulated. Further, when demodulated output is encoded, decoding is performed. The demodulated and decoded reception signals are outputted from a speaker 33 or a character output means 32.
