Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct current power cable which is excellent in not only direct current breakdown characteristics but also insulation breakdown characteristics when an impulse is applied, polarity is reversed, and a direct current polarity reversed impulse is superimposed, in the case of a direct current power cable having a polyolefin insulator layer.
SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a direct current power cable having a polyolefin insulator layer provided in the outside of a conductor. The insulator layer has an ethylene copolymer having, as its copolymeric components, at least one kind of polar group containing monomers containing a carbonyl group, a nitrile group, and a nitro group and a dibasic acid anhydride, or, a resin component comprising a mixture of an ethylene copolymer with another polyolefin resin. The layer comprizes a cross-linked polymer of a resin composition wherein an organic oxide and a thiocarboxylic acid ester antioxidant are mixed thereinto, as essential component. There is provided with a direct current power cable which is excellent in insulation breakdown characteristics when an impulse is applied, polarity is reversed and a direct current polarity reversed impulse is superimposed.
