PURPOSE: To enable heating perfectly free from oxidation of a steel strip by specifying (inner diameter of a burner)/(pitch of the burners) in the steel strip width direction to arrange the burners at some intervals.
CONSTITUTION: The heating burner is arranged at some interval so as to attain ≥0.3 (the inner diameter of the burner)/(the pitch of the burners) in the line direction. In a direct fired heating furnace for continuous annealing equipment, the heating burners are arranged at some interval so as to attain ≥0.4 (the inner diameter of the burner)/(the pitch of the burners) in the steel strip width direction. The arrangement of the burners may be a lattice-state or zigzag-state. As ion intensity of flame in the burners adjacent each other is held to high level and good reduction heating is executed even in the width direction of the steel strip, the steel strip can be heated without any oxidation.
