Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for a direct-injection engine capable of optimizing cooling of fuel by supplying cooling water to a fuel cooler without excess and shortage and of preventing failure caused by an inappropriate fuel temperature.SOLUTION: Request heat radiation amount Qb to an intercooler 22 is calculated, and based on necessary cooling water amount required to achieve the request heat radiation amount Qb, a drive duty of a water pump 38 is set (S1). When a determination that a fuel temperature Tfd in a delivery pipe 13 exceeds a determination value Tfd0 so as to require cooling is made (S3), request heat radiation amount Qa to a fuel cooler 29 is calculated, and necessary cooling water amount required to achieve the request heat radiation amount Qa is calculated (S5). Based on the necessary cooling water amount, the drive duty of the water pump 38 is calculated, and increase correction of the drive duty in Step S1 only by the drive duty is performed (S6). Corresponding to a ratio of the necessary cooling water amount between the fuel cooler 29 and the intercooler 22, an opening of the flow control valve 37 is set (S7).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
