To provide a direct-injection four-cycle engine setting an explosion stroke longer than a compression stroke without remarkably remodeling a structure or control by a technique other than opening an exhaust port on the sidewall of a cylinder or providing a special exhaust control valve.
A valve performing exhaust operation is provided in a cylinder head, and in order to drive opening/closing of the exhaust valve with the operation of an exhaust control cam provided on a camshaft at the timing of exhaust control operation which is set in the process of the compression stroke, an existing exhaust valve provided in the cylinder head may be driven to open/close by means of the exhaust control cam provided additionally on the existing camshaft, or an exclusive exhaust control valve additionally provided may be driven to open/close by means of an exclusive exhaust control cam provided on an exclusive camshaft.
