Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve performance of a direct injection spark ignition type internal combustion engine.
SOLUTION: A spark plug 1 is arranged in almost the center of a combustion chamber 3, and an intake port 5 is provided eccentrically from a cylinder axis. A fuel injection valve 4 is disposed in the vicinity of a combustion chamber opening part of the intake port 5 by an angle of depression θ=35°±10°, so that an atomization cone angle α of fuel is 70°±20°. A recessed curved surface 9 colliding against fuel atomization 8 in the vicinity of the top dead center is formed in an intake side of a crown surface of a piston 7, a plane part 10 protrusively tilted to a degree not interfering with a combustion chamber wall surface 3a is formed on an exhaust side. A ridge line 11 is eccentrically provided to an exhaust side by a proper distance from the spark plug 1, also formed in a proper height. In this way, collision diffusion of the fuel atomization 8 and diffusion prevention more than necessary can be simultaneously attained, so that combustion can be improved, also a wall surface sticking amount is suppressed, so that oil dilution can be suppressed, further vaporized fuel can be collected to the periphery of the spark plug 1, so that ignitability and combustion stability can be improved.
