PURPOSE: To obtain a cyan image small in color mixing and superior in color reproduction performance by using a novel cyan coupler and specifying sensitivity of each photosensitive layer.
CONSTITUTION: The sensitivity of each photosensitive layer satirsfies the relationship represented by expression I and a red-sensitive layer contains the cyan coupler represented by formula II. In expression I and formula II, SB(B) and SC(B) are blue sensitivity and green sensitivity in the maximum spectral sensitivity wavelength in a blue-sensitive layer, respectively, and SG(G) and SR(G) are green sensitivity and red sensitivity in the maximum spectral sensitivity wavelength in a green-sensitive layer, respectively, each of RC11 and RC12 is an electron-attractive group; ZC11 is -NH- or -CH(RC13)-; ZC12 is -C(RC14)= or -N=, ZC13 is -C(RC15)= or -N=, RC13 is an electron-attractive group; each of RC14 and RC15 is H or a substituent, and XC11 is H or a group to be released by coupling with the oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine color developing agent.
