Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the sticking of solid crust on the inner wall of a separator and to effectively separate the iron fine powder by arranging an annular housing for regulating passages of metallized iron fine powder and hot gas in the separator and making cooling medium to flow on the side wall of the separator.
SOLUTION: This cylindrical housing 40 has a hollow annular chamber 50 at least in a part thereof. The annular chamber 50 is formed at least in a conical intermediate part 42 of the housing 40. The annular chamber 50 contains an inlet hole 52 for introducing the cooling medium and an outlet hole 54 for removing the cooling medium. The cooling medium is desirably introced at about 30-600°C to keep the temp. of the inner wall in contact with the metallized iron fine powder to ≤ about 700°C. The angle of about 7-12° is formed in the intermediate part 42 to the lower side part in addition of the cooling of the side wall part of the housing 40, to improve the effect on the separation and the removal of the solid particles from the separator 22.
