PURPOSE: To enable smooth and high speed conversion of a direction of a container, by a method wherein a frame body, lowered from above as it is conveyed in the same direction as that of a container group and containing a container group, is provided, and the direction of the container group is converted through rotation, in the middle of conveyance, of the frame body.

CONSTITUTION: When a support member 23 conveyed by an endless chain 18 is inputted onto a carrier conveyor 1 after rotation around a sprocket 17, a frame body 5 supported by the support member 23 is lowered under gravity in a state in that its longitudinal direction points to the conveying direction of the carrier conveyor 1. The frame body 5 is situated in a position right above a container group 2 inputted in a grouped state, and with the frame lowered in a conveying process, the container group 2 is contained thereinto. After the frame body 5 is rotated in a 90° arc by means of a cam along with its movement, the frame body is raised again, the raising causes the container group 2 to convert its direction, the container group is traversely fed to the box carrier conveyor 9 side through protruding motion of a push member 7, and is contained in a box 11.
