Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact, dual mode bidirectional antenna for a mobile telephone whose manufacture is simple.
SOLUTION: This antenna has a single rectangular copper sheet. The sheet is bent, and forms a 1st patch antenna part 1 and then forms a 2nd patch antenna part 3, and the parts 1 and 3 are connected by a part 2 of the copper sheet and extend to the part 2 of the copper sheet. The part 2 of the copper sheet maintains the two patch antenna parts 1 and 3 in a virtually parallel position relation to each other. Air gap 4 exists between the parts 1 and 3. A reflect type grounding plane 6 exists under the antenna and the antenna is fed at a place that exists at the end of the part 1, which is relatively large and where the excitation of the antenna is performed.
