PURPOSE: To obtain a conductor showing anisotropic electric resistance by forming polytetrafluoroethylene porous body into a micro-structure with many small fibers and nodes and forming a conductor by making tiny metallic particles adhere on the surface of the micro-structure.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture of polytetrafluoroethylene powder added with a liquid state lubricant is formed into a specified shape. After removing the lubricant, the material is heated at a specified temperature and then extended along a single axis at a lower temperature to be formed into a porous body 1 of a micro-structure. Fine metallic particles are deposited and fixed by sputtering on one surface of the porous body 1. The porous body 1 formed in this way has the micro-structure consisting of nodes 3 arranged continuously in a direction and of small fibers 2 vertically connecting to the nodes. A conductive surface shows a smaller resistance in the direction of the arrangement of the nodes 3 than in the direction of the arrangement of the small fibers 2. A conductor of anisotropic electric resistance is thus obtained.
