To solve an extremely difficult problem of designing a directional coupler with its coupling amount not larger than -30 dB and directionality not smaller than 30 dB by arranging ferrite absorbers at the periphery of a trunk line, and to attain an improvement not lower than 10 dB.

The ferrite absorbers are placed at most effective position along the trunk line from an input to an output of the directional coupler.
