Title:
DIRECTIONAL ULTRASONIC LOUD-SPEAKER DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11145915
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a directional ultrasonic loud-speaker device with which an audible signal can be transmitted only to the extremely limited far area.

While using one ultrasonic sound source generated from an ultrasonic signal generating means 20, an ultrasonic wave modulated by the desired audible signal to be transmitted by a modulating means 22 is transmitted from one ultrasonic loud speaker 26 and a non-modulated ultrasonic wave is radiated from another ultrasonic loud speaker 25 toward a target. Thus, in the area, where two ultrasonic waves are overlapped, near the target (shown by slanting lines), the audible sound is reproduced as the differential frequency of both waves by interference and information is transmitted. On the other hand, in the area where two ultrasonic waves are not overlapped, no interference occurs and no audible sound appears. With such a system, the audible sound is transmitted only concerning the nearby slanting line part and in the other area, there is not audible sound at all.
