Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a vibration absorber excellent in quake damping and pressure regulating effects by providing the first vibration system of pendulum type made possible to vibrate in two directions X, Y and vibrating in a different period for the respective directions in accordance with the primary natural period in the two directions X, Y of a structure.

CONSTITUTION: A pendulum 10, constituting the first vibration system for a structure 30 of main vibration system, forms a weight 11, concurrently serving as a supporting bed using a steel material, hung down by wire ropes 12 in four points for a peripheral frame 2 of a device. Next the weight 11 mounts on its upper a water tank 20, filled with water constituting the second vibration system, and the wire rope 12 mounts to its both sides a guide member 3 extending in a direction X in a bottom side of a beam part of the peripheral frame 2. The first vibration system is constituted of the pendulum made different in its vibration period between two orthogonal directions X, Y, and their vibration period is simultaneously controlled. In this way, a single device can cope with vibration, and the device is compact possible to sensitively react even for small vibration.
