To obtain an Al-Mg-Si alloy sheet for forming, more inexpensively than heretofore, by means of direct casting and rolling and solution heat treatment.
The directly cast and rolled sheet of an Al-Mg-Si alloy for forming is obtained by applying, if necessary, solution heat treatment to a directly cast and rolled sheet of 0.7 to 3mm thick of an Al alloy which has a composition containing 0.3-2.0% (by mass, the same applies to the following) Mg and 0.3-2.0% Si as essential elements, also containing one or ≥2 kinds among 0.02-0.5% Mn, 0.02-0.5% Cr, 0.02-0.3% Zr, and 0.003-0.2% Ti, one or ≥2 kinds among 0-2.5% Cu, 0-1.0% Zn, and 0-0.5% Sn, and ≤1.0% Fe as an impurity, and having the balance essentially Al. As the characteristics of the sheet, elongation is ≥18% and the ratio between tensile strength TS and proof stress YS is regulated so that TS/YS≥1.8 is satisfied.
