To provide a technical means of making the brightness different between the central part and the peripheral part of the light-emitting face in the directly-under type plane light-emitting device such as a directly-under backlight.
This is a directly-under type plane light-emitting device 1s that comprises a light-emitting plane 3, a plurality of linear light sources 4 which are arranged at the back of the light-emitting plane 3 and irradiate the light on the light-emitting plane 3, and a reflecting surface 2a which is arranged at the back of the linear light sources 4 and reflects the light from the linear light sources 4 to the light-emitting plane 3 side. The distance L2 from the light-emitting plane 3 to the linear light sources 4 and the distance L1 from the linear light sources to the reflecting surface are different between the central part region and the peripheral part region of the light-emitting plane 3, thereby, the brightness of the central part and the peripheral part of the light-emitting plane 3 can be made different.
