To provide a disassembling method of an optical cable core and a disassembling apparatus thereof, capable of surely cutting off and removing rough winding threads for preventing coated optical fibers from dropping out of the trenched slots.

There are provided the method and apparatus for disassembling an optical cable core which accommodates coated optical fibers 4 in the trenches 2a of the slots 2 and is provided with rough winding threads 5 on the outer circumference of the slots 2, and the rough winding threads 5 are fusion-cut by applying temperature higher than the melting point of the rough winding threads 5 by means of a heat ray means 16 or the like. Otherwise, the press-wrapping tape 6 and the rough winding threads 5 may be cut from an upper part of the press-wrapping tape 6 along the longitudinal direction of the optical cable core using a cutter 15 kept at the temperature higher than the melting point of the rough winding threads 5. Further, if the cut rough winding threads 5 adhere onto the slots 2, they are removed by a brushing means 17.
