PURPOSE: To provide a disaster preventing hood which has sufficient impact absorptiveness and satisfactory waterproofing property, is light-weighted and not bulky, and can be stored in a small space by covering a cushion material with a facing material, and vacuum-packing a synthetic resin foamed body with a synthetic resin film into the compressed state to form a cushion material.

CONSTITUTION: A cushion body 3 formed by vacuum-packing a synthetic resin foamed body 1 molded into a substantially reverse U-shaped sectional plate with a synthetic resin film 2 into the compressed state is covered with a cloth facing material 4 sewed into a hood form. A circular patch member 5 consisting of a gas impermeable synthetic resin film piece is stuck to one end part inner surface (one end part inner surface side of the reverse U-shape) of the cushion material 3 in such a manner as to be capable of peeling and resticking, and the facing material 4 is partially circularly notched in the patch member 5-stuck part to expose the patch member 5. A bore mark is displayed in the center part of the part where the patch member 5 is stuck on the synthetic resin film 2 surface of the cushion body 3.
