To solve the following inconvenience: a conventional disaster preventive verge tile is susceptible to breakage of an engaging projection, and difficult to produce.

There is provided a new disaster preventive verge tile. According to the structure of the disaster preventive verge tile, a side sag 2 does not reach a tail-side end face 1a of a tile portion 1, and has an engaging projection 4 projecting from an inner side surface thereof in a head-side overlapping area 3. Specifically the engaging projection 4 is located below a side end 1b of the tile portion 1 of the lower-stage verge tile laid on a roof, that is on one side of a tail-side end face 2a of the side sag 2, close to a tail side. In this manner by forming the engaging projection 4 as a simple projection projected from the inner side surface of the side sag 2, the engaging projection 4 is proof against breakage, and production steps of the disaster preventive verge tile are simplified.
