PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a structure of a pad 18a for a disc brake capable of restricting occurrence of noise of brake and clonk sound.SOLUTION: A through-hole 33 for inserting and passing a pad pin 26a supported and fixed at a caliper 20 is formed at a more radial inner side of an action line of a brake tangential force acting at the time of braking of a circumferential one end part of a rear plate 32 constituting a pad 18a. In addition, a torque transmitting surface 36 opposing against a torque receiving surface 27 formed at the caliper 20 is formed at a more radial outer side of the action line of the brake tangential force of one end edge of the rear plate 32 in its circumferential direction. The brake tangential force acting at the time of braking is supported through an engagement between the through-hole 33 and the pad pin 26a at the time of forward braking, and in turn at the time of rearward braking, the brake tangential force is supported through a contact between the torque transmitting surface 36 and the torque receiving surface 27. Directions of moment acting against the pad 18a at the time of forward braking and rearward braking are coincided to each other to resolve the aforesaid theme.
