Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding method for disc brake pad for forming a chamfer part of a friction member of disc brake pad by compression molding in which a homogeneity disc brake pad having a low density difference between the chamfer part of the friction member and another portion.SOLUTION: As raw material for a disc brake pad, a friction material composition containing binder, organic filler, inorganic filler and fiber base material is included in which at least a part of it is granulated. A die device composed of a lower die, an upper die having die holes forming an outer peripheral shape of the friction material and a molding die for molding an upper end surface of the friction material is applied to fill friction material composition in a cavity formed by the die holes of the lower die and the upper die and at the same time the raw material corresponding to a volume of the recess formed by the chamfer in the raw material of friction member fed into a location forming the chamfer is flowed in advance at the central part in a bulky state before forming the friction material composition and then it is molded into a prescribed shape.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
