Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve characterstics while providing the strength of material equivalent to a steel brake material by fabricating the caliper of a disc brake, a support, a piston and a pad backing strip, etc. with sintered ceramics. CONSTITUTION:Not alone a caliper 1 and/or a support 7, but also a piston 3 and a frictional pad backing strip 5, etc. are made of baked ceramics. This process can serve to prevent vapor lock, oil leak, and thermal deterioration of the seal material, etc.
